FLORIDA MOST VULNERABLE TO HURRICANES
Florida leads the nation in the number of communities that are most vulnerable to hurricanes, a recently released report conducted by the International Hurricane Research Center at Florida International University shows. Specifically, Lake Okeechobee, which is protected by flooding from a levee, is the highest ranking Florida city on the list, appearing at the No.
2 spot. The Florida Keys, Miami Ft. Lauderdale, and Tampa/St. Petersburg also make the list appearing at Nos. 3, 5 and 10 respectively.
